Invisalign is a modern approach to straightening your teeth. There are no metal or wires, simply clear, nearly invisible trays that gently shift the alignment of your teeth.

Dr. Waldbaum will map out a plan for the exact movement of your teeth and help guide you through the process.

A gentle way to straighten your teeth

We offer Invisalign to our patients because it is a simple, convenient system that offers a high level of comfort and excellent results. The clear trays are easy to wear and are not as obvious as wire and bracket braces.

How it works:

  • Consult with Dr. Waldbaum to determine if the Invisalign system is the right choice for you.
  • Getting started involves taking digital xrays and impressions of your teeth, which Invisalign will use to make a 3-D image. From these images, we will map out a treatment plan to establish the exact movement of your teeth.
  • A series of custom aligners will be created based on the 3-D images and treatment plan. They are made of smooth, BPA-free plastic. You will wear them throughout the day and night, but you can remove them to eat or brush your teeth. Your teeth will gradually shift into place to fit perfectly within the aligner shell. You will switch to a new aligner approximately every two weeks.
  • Occasional check-ups about every six weeks to review results and make sure the plan is still effective.
  • For best results you will want to wear the aligners for 20 to 22 hours each day. Although every case is different, treatment often takes only 1 year for adults and about the equivalent of a set of braces for teens.
